Munich, Germany \/ Manchester UK,\u00a0October 13, 2023 – <\/strong>Dromos, an autonomous on-demand mobility company, is pleased to announce its win of two projects in the Commercialising Connected and Automated Mobility: Mass Transit 2 Competition.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/section>

Dromos Mobility will lead a consortium comprising of Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) and Bolton Metropolitan Borough Council to conduct a feasibility study for a Connected Autonomous Mobility (CAM) system connecting the Bolton Transport Interchange to the Royal Bolton Hospital, in part using decommissioned railway lines with the potential to expand and integrate the service via the infrastructure and other mobility projects in the area \u2013 with the opportunity to showcase the integration of classic and innovative mobility solutions.<\/p>\n

The project will also enable Bolton and TfGM to evaluate how Dromos autonomous mass transportation systems will accelerate an expansion of public transport by providing affordable, reliable, and sustainable service to the public and helping to meet regional sustainability and transportation goals.<\/p>\n

Dromos will also be a project partner to study the feasibility of a zero emission self-driving system on a segregated route between Seaton Delaval Station to the Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital in Cramlington, close to Newcastle upon Tyne. The study will aim to increase accessibility to the hospital to support the Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust\u2019s plan to develop the site and increase patient services.<\/p>\n

The Northumberland Line is a nationally important passenger rail project linking the rural areas of Northumberland to the employment and facilities of the county\u2019s main towns and the wider urban areas of Newcastle and North Tyneside. NSECH is a regionally important healthcare facility providing world-class care for critically ill and injured patients from across the northeast of England.<\/p>\n

“We’re excited to showcase our adaptable technology for inclusive, personalised, and environmentally-friendly mobility,” said Dr. Antje Voelker, co-founder of Dromos. “This project represents a huge step toward our vision of affordable, on-demand autonomous transit globally.”<\/p>\n

Dromos’ self-driving vehicles can operate on small footprints and require minimal infrastructure, making them highly adaptable.<\/p>\n

This flexibility enables Dromos to provide affordable, high capacity on-demand and sustainable public transportation in privacy. In essence, it provides the service of a taxi at the price of a bus ticket. This revolutionary system aims to transform mobility by offering convenient, sustainable, and cost-effective transportation at scale.<\/p>\n
